Sketchabilities #127: "Missing you"

Last Saturday I not only made a card, but I also made a layout (my first layout in ages). Homeboy is in all of the pictures. After a couple of medical interventions (both surgical and non surgical), we had to let him go. That was a couple of months ago. I still think of him a lot. While making this page I realized that it still hurts me a lot nog having him around anymore.

Supplies: Cardstock, masks by Prima Marketing (2x Finnabair), TCW template Mini Tile Texture, leaves by Artemio, cat paw punch by Fiskars, Tim Holtz' die "Wordplay", stamps by Prima Marketing and KaiserCraft, flowers by Wild Orchids Crafts, tule.

And some close ups...

To make this page I used a sketch of Sketchabilities:
As you can see I turned the sketch upside down

Even though I used blue on my page, I'm very happy with the outcome. Blue and I normally just don't match.

Well that's all fow now.
Please let me know what you think of this page and see you next time!

Cardabilities #111: "Season's Greetings!"

Ok, I'm still trying to get familiar again with scrapbooking and cardmaking and what better way is there than looking up Cardabilties.
Here's the 111th sketch...

...and this is what I've done with it...

Supplies: cardstock, Pion Design's "Waiting for Santa II", Floral Embelishments by Petaloo, stamps by Hero Arts and Inkadinkado, Tattered Angels' Glimmer Mist, Tsukineko Sheer Shimmer Spritz "Gold", embossing powder, tule.

I used some different colors than what I would normally use, so that alone was a challenge for me.

As always, I like to know what you think of it. Until next time!

It's been a while...: "I Love Us"

Well, I guess it really has been a while since my last blog message. Due to some private medical stuff, followed by a whole lot of visits to the vet with our cat Homeboy (R.I.P.) and a lack of mojo, I haven't done anything creative. Lately I had this feeling that I should really start making visits to my scraproom again and so I finally did last weekend.

I started out with this small canvas just to try and get familiair again with scrapbooking and all that's related to it.

Supplies: canvas, gesso, "Studio of Memories" by Pion Design, Tim Holtz dies ("Worldplay", "Heart Wings"), TCW template "Mini Tile Texture", butterfly embellishmentsby Melissa Frances, Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels, tule, cord, buttons, stamps by Stampers Anonymous and Prima Marketing, flowers.

I have to say that I liked the result, but I'm still a bit rusty. There were some moment that I felt I had to reinventi the things I was once so used of doing, but it will come to me.

Another thing that I haven't done for a long, long time is baking cakes. Not that I used to do that on a weekly basis, but I think I haven't baked a cake and 'played' with marsepin and/or fondant in about almost two years. It as fun doing it again.

Since I want to gain any weight, I'm not going to make a cake every week/month, but I am going to make some more of them.

It's funny to see that my scrapbooking style kind of resembles the way I like to decorate a cake.

Well, that's all for now.
Until next time.

The last day of February and also my last entry as one of Cardabilities Design Team members.'For me it's time to move over and make place for a whole new Team.
I've been a member of the Cardabilities team for a little over a year (4 terms) and I have to say: I had a lot of fun working with Karan's sketches and it was great to be on the team. I know the new team members will love their place in the new team and I wish them all the best.
Time for the card (#70) I made. I loved the sketch and I really had fun making this card.

Tim Holtz' 12 Tags of 2013: February

Finally a had some time to sit down and start on Tim Holtz' February-tag before the month is over.
February has been a really crazy month for me. Next month will be crazy too, but after that I think ít's getting a bit less hectic.

As to be expected I didn't have all the stuff Tim used on his tag, but I think it turned out well.
